Midwest Formwork completed the Groundworks / Drainage and RC Frame Contract for a new Residential Development located at Hollingdean Road in Brighton for Osborne Construction. Midwest were involved from day 1 on the project and conducted all site clearance, pile probing, piling mat and pile attendance works. We then completed bulk dig, pile cropping, and all drainage systems and the Ground Floor Slab.
The RC Frame consisted of 4 Suspended slabs, each approximately 600m2 in size. The Suspended slabs were constructed using Doka’s Table Formwork system. Midwest utilised Pre Cast Columns on this project due to the tight nature of the floor plate. The use of PC Columns helped Midwest beat what was an extremely tight programme Shear Walls, Lift Walls and Staircore walls were constructed using traditional Doka Pan Shuttering systems. Stairs were constructed by landing Pre Cast Stair flights on insitu landings and were grouted thereafter.
Works commenced in January 2012 and were completed in May 2012. All paving, tarmac, bed planters and remainder of the drainage was completed on time for opening April 2013.
