This is a student-accommodation-led mixed-use development on St Mary's Road in Southampton, transforming a site that has been empty for more than 30 years. Bouygues Development acquired the site, secured planning consent for a scheme with 467 student accommodation units and ancillary retail.

As well as providing up to 467 student bedrooms in clusters of four, five and six bedrooms, with some studio apartments and some six and eight-bedroom townhouses, the scheme also includes 3,100 sq. ft. of commercial floor space.

Midwest re designed the RC frame to precast vertical elements and insitu horizontal elements. The site had no storage space as you would expect for a city center development and the team used a just in time delivery system which worked extremely well.
